What are "Subscriptions" and "My Notifications"?

Posted in Group:

I have been getting a few questions regarding these features so I just wanted to make sure everyone knew what they were:

The "subscribe" buttons below posts allows you to get a notification anytime the post you subscribe to gets a new comment. This notification can be by email or private message. You can also subscribe to an author's (user's) posts. Anytime they create a new post you will get a notification.

Also, by default, anytime you comment on a post or create a new post you will automatically get notified if a new comment has been added.

You can change any of these settings in "My Notifications" on the top left menu when you are logged in.

All your subscriptions are private. No one knows if you have subscribed to their posts.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Since you're giving clarification, what are support points and badges? I just found you all tonight, and feel so relieved! I've talked about looking for a support group for single moms, and finally got the motivation I needed to look for it tonight! Thanks for being here

Hi Elliott2011, welcome to Support Groups! Thank you so much for being here with us. Here is the Site's definition of Support Points;

"Support Points is a numeric tracking system that shows how much support you are giving to the community on SupportGroups.com. The more you participate, the more points you will receive. As you accumulate more Support Points, you will get more Support Belts added to your profile."

I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any other questions.

Sending you many positive vibes and wishing you all of the best.

This is a new thing to me. My son is depressed. It is breaking my heart and at times making me angry and frusrated. he refuses to go on any medication to help himself.. He rarely cares for himself... like showering,and activities which need to be done..taxes,car repair,financial issues...I have read many books, and now looking to talk to someone who can help ...

Hi Leonel, thank you so much for being here with us. I am so sorry for what you are going through with your son. I want to make sure that you get as much support from us as possible; therefore, I recommend copying and pasting your comment into a Discussion and post in groups such as Depression and Parents, and if he is a Teen, then in the Teen group as well. You can post in up to 3 groups at a time. Let me know if you need any help in creating a discussion.

Sending you many positive vibes and wishing you all of the best.
