childhood abuse/caregiver of same adult

Posted in Group:

I've long since forgiven my mother for all she has done to me as a child and over the years. But can't forget any of it. I try very hard to not misread words spoken to me in haste. Try to protect my heart from new wounds. Sometimes something triggers a flashback that hurts me all over again. Does anyone else go thru this?

Certain words and a certain behavior can affect very deeply our lives. God bless you for forgiving her and for taking care of her. It is a pity that you have to be there, anyone of the family could be available to help? Do not look back, only toward the future. Often, I question why some people are so mean and miserable. Wishing you health and happiness. God bless you.
